Spring Hockey

Spring Hockey

GRIT’s Spring Hockey Program was created for players and parents who are looking for a development focus while keeping their player game-ready. Rather than playing in sporadic tournaments, we integrate weekly team practices and local games at the same cost as tournament-only spring programs. Our players get better, faster, without breaking the bank.

Routine Practices

During the Spring and Summer, our teams practice together on a regular basis to sharpen skills and learn the important fundamentals of hockey strategy. Our players noticeably improve their game by the following season.

Dedicated Coaching

Our core coaches lead each of our spring hockey teams and do 100% of the coaching- both in the ice and from the bench. We only run the number of teams that our senior coaches can accommodate each spring.

Local Games and Tournaments

Rather than having families spend upwards of $1000 per weekend just to play hockey, we organize local games and join local tournaments so the kids get more hockey and the families get less cost.

Tommy Caldwell- Coach

Tommy has been working with hockey players from minor, junior, and professional associations since 2010 when he began running on-ice conditioning with his pro-players. Since starting in hockey development, Tommy has worked with the London Knights, Soo Greyhounds, Toronto Marlies, and world junior athletes from 3 different nations. The majority of Tommy’s coaching experience comes from working alongside his professional players to develop minor and junior athletes throughout the summers. Doing so has allowed him to stay up-to-date with the rapidly changing game of hockey.

Megan Howe

Megan Howe is an experienced player and coach who currently runs Howe Authentic Training in Lucan, St.Mary’s, and Stratford Ontario. She currently works with several minor organizations from the local to AAA level as a skills coach and player mentor.
